Nandi is Lord Shiva’s bull carrier. He is found
in almost all Shiva temples and usually faces the Shiva-linga.
He is usually sitting, but may be presented standing. In
paintings he is white with brown eyes, a black tail, and horns
with red points. He has a thick neck and his horns are as hard
as diamonds.
